Silly Girls

Mandy and Jasmine being silly as usual. Yes the pink stuff in her mouth is gum. Jasmine is so proud of herself when she gets a piece. She also chews it the same way as her daddy (like a cow). I hadn't realized that the three of them (Jason, Jasmine and Mandy) are so alike. You gotta love em!

Aunt Mandy Came To Visit (Day 1)

Aunt Mandy made it to England at last. Our visit was cut short but we were so happy to have the time with her. It seemed as if she wasn't going to make it to England when Roger got sick but thanks to Mark and Mimi she was able to get away for a little while.
Jason left bright and early for the airport to pick Mandy up while Jasmine and I stayed behind and made breakfast. Jasmine was counting down the minutes for Mandy to walk through the door. We allowed Mandy a short nap. Which seemed like days to Jasmine. She must have asked us every ten minutes if it was time to wake Mandy up yet. For dinner we headed to the Cuckoo for a traditional Sunday roast.

It was all very yummy and Aunt Mandy got to try Yorkshire pudding, roast turkey, pig in a blanket (sausage wrapped in bacon) roast potatoes and parsnips and some veg.
And of course a pint or two ;)

We also got Mandy hooked on sticky toffee pudding. I've never eaten so much of the stuff since we've lived here. It is soooo yummy.

Back on track

The chicken pox are over at last and we are back on the road.

Our first stop of the day Castle Rising.

Next stop Hunstanton. I have not been anywhere in England so far that I have not liked. I do not like Hunstanton! I now wish I had taken some pictures but at the time I was to appalled to do so. We pull into what is basically a tiny Myrtle Beach (all the bad things times 100). However there is no beach. Just a concrete board walk, cold, tiny strip of rocky sand and hardly any water. All along the way are bad stalls and booths selling junk, ice cream and what they call American style donuts, pie and so on. I just want to run and get back in the car. Jason insists we look around. After I have had all I can take we head back to the car when Jasmine says the dreaded words " Mommy I have to wee". Yuck! we go into the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen and if you know me at all I'm having a heart attack at this point. We get back in the car and since I don't have a shower with us I cover us all in a good layer of anti- bac and we move on with our journey.

We drive along the coast and see tons of cute and charming towns. More like what I had expected. We stopped in Blakeney for coffee and a snack. The stop was suppose to be to see a nature reserve. The thing I had not realized was that the reserve was a four mile hike each way from Blakeney. A little to much for Jasmine's little legs. Still a good little stop and a fun day.

Warwick Castle

So..... We are all ( including Basil) finally in the UK, no one is ill, and the weather is beautiful. Let the adventures begin! First adventure Warwick Castle. We had a great day and the castle was beautiful. View from the top of the Castle.

Jasmine and Jason getting medieval.

Just for you Ami. We have met the Queen at last. ;)

We strike a pose.

Another view from the top.

Jasmine and Jason climbing to the top. The stairs went up for a long time. Jasmine made it all the way to the top on her own. Once at the top I kept freaking out when she would get to close to the edge. Jasmine said " Chill out Mommy".

What a wonderful day, all was going well and then. Everything came to a screeching halt. The CHICKEN POX hit. No not Jasmine ME! The next day I found a few bug bites on my leg or so I thought. No, it turned out to be the chicken pox. Who would have thought? A few miserable weeks for me. Did I mention it was MISERABLE!!!!!! Two weeks later Jasmine got 5 spots. No big deal. You would have never known she had the chicken pox if I had not just had them. Thanks Ami and Babi for my plastic bubble. :))

Back in the UK

So the blog is not up to date yet but at least I'm blogging about the country we are currently in. :)) So we jumped back into life in the UK starting with a school field trip to a farm that is just down the rode from us.

We got to see a baby lamb being born. OK let me say GROSS. I don't want to see that again. Jasmine complained about the smell the whole time and I can't say that I blame her.
Jasmine and her best school buddy Amelia. They are both Diamond Castle Barbies. Jasmine is Liana and Amelia is Alexa.

We also had a big furry surprise waiting for us when we got home. BASIL!!!!! We are so happy that she is with us now. I think it took a few years off my life getting her here but all is well now. She loves being here. The house is nice and small so she can keep up with us at all times. She loves the cooler weather and Ferry Meadows nicknamed Furry Meadows by us because Basil loves it so much. I think it's like doggy Disney World to her. More on Ferry Meadows to come.
Missing Mimi and all the goodies she was fed.

Final NC Catch Up

Yes I know I'm a bad blogger. I have been needing to finish the posts for NC and have gotten way behind. So this is a quick conclusion to all our fun. To follow will be some more recent stuff. Jason and his Mama -said with a southern drawl of course ;)
Mandy, Mimi and Jasmine out for a day of fun.

A stop for lunch at Mimi's Cafe. One of Jasmine's favorite places. I think it's the gummy dirt bucket at the end that she loves the most. It also turned into our Thursday lunch date with Mandy over the several weeks that we were there. We miss our lunch date with Aunt Mandy soooooo much! We'll have to squeeze in a few this summer.

First attempt at ice skating. Jasmine loved it. Me not so much. I was done after going around once. Jasmine and Ami turned out to be quit the skaters. We couldn't get them off the ice.

Jasmine and Ami going round and round the rink.

A quick break for a snuggle with Babi.

The life Jasmine had to leave behind. Eating pretzels, having juice and watching TV in Ami's bed. Poor child... she has it so good in NC. Love and miss all of you in NC!
